Frequently Asked Questions
Before You Install
- How do I get the Arkayne Related Links plugin?
Simply click here to get an account.
- Is the Arkayne Related Links plugin available for my blog?
The Arkayne Related Links plugin is available for the following platforms: WordPress, Movable Type, Joomla, Django, TypePad, and Blogger. We also offer a JavaScript version. In the case of WordPress, we currently support self hosting installations of WordPress, but can not currently support WordPress.com blogs. If you would like Arkayne for another platform, just send us a request and our sales team will be happy to help. We currently limit our free plugin service to allow a maximum of 2000 pages total and up to 50 pages per month per account. If you have a larger site or blog and plan to exceed these usage limits contact us and we'll be happy to discuss the steps for setting up an enterprise account.
- What will the Arkayne Related Links plugin do?
Instead of relying on tags, Arkayne automatically examines every visible word on a given post. After examining every post on your site Arkayne compares every post to the others to determine how contextually relevant they are. The most relevant internal links are then delivered at the bottom of your posts which we call "InnerLinks". We then examine every post among the trusted partners that you are following and deliver the most relevant trusted partner links at the bottom of your posts which we call "CrossLinks". Please note Arkayne ignores all JavaScript content, and meta tags are not included in the contextual comparison but are required to properly display your posts on your Arkayne Profile.
- What does the Arkayne Plugin look like?
At the bottom of each post you will see five "InnerLinks" and five "CrossLinks" (only if you are following trusted partner sources). In the future you will be able to customize the look and feel of your links. At the bottom of your plugin is "Follow Me On Arkayne" which is a link to Arkayne to see more relevant matches and information about the page being linked.
- What if my website is mostly video or image content, can I still use the Arkayne Related Links plugin?
Yes, but Arkayne works best when a page has actual written content to describe the media. Be sure to display this description on the actual page itself, Arkayne does not include meta tags in the textual comparison.
- Does the Arkayne Related Links plugin require an account or a login?
You will need to register here for an account. Once you have an account, you can setup your profile. Free accounts are allowed one profile, if you'd like additional profiles to gain more control of your linking just send us a request and a member of our staff will contact you.
- Can I install the Arkayne Related Links plugin on more than one blog?
If you would like to install your plugin on more than one blog contact us and we'll be happy to discuss the steps for setting this up.
- What languages does the Arkayne Related Links plugin support?
Arkayne currently only supports the English language. We plan to support other languages in the future.
- Does the Arkayne Related Links plugin cost anything?
We currently limit our free plugin service to allow a maximum of 2000 pages total and up to 50 pages per month per account. If you have a larger site or blog and plan to exceed these usage limits contact us and we'll be happy to discuss the steps for setting up an enterprise account. In the future users who would like access to advanced features or functionality will be able to pay a nominal fee for the service.
After You Install
- When will my links show?
Your links will show a few minutes after Arkayne is installed. Each of your pages is submitted to Arkayne for evaluation the first time a reader visits it. If you are not seeing some of your older posts, wait for a few readers to visit them at least once. We found that over a few days most content is submitted this way.
The first time Arkayne evaluates your posts it may take a bit longer. We have much more work to do the first time around. Once you're rolling, each new post you publish should be processed relatively quickly.
- How can I reccomend others?
The ability to connect your content with your community and make yourself visible in the process is core tho the Arkayne philosophy. Recommending others using Arkayne allows you to build your own network, resulting in a larger trusted audience.
When you recommend someone their links show on your individual posts if they are relevant. Arkayne matches post to post so your links are relevant to what the reader is looking at in the moment.
When you become recommended your links show on other relevant posts. Their audience becomes your audience.
To start recommending visit the Arkayne search page.
- What if my descriptions are not showing?
Arkayne uses the "meta description tag" to generate short descriptions for your posts. Most search engines use this field so it is a good idea to have it in general.
If you are not using meta description on your site, you should enable them on your platform. Instructions for the "meta description tag" can be found on online through your favorite search engine.
For our WordPress users, your Arkayne Plugin setup page has a check box option to "Inject Meta Descriptions". This will insert the appropriate description into your posts and pages.
- Why is my widget saying displaying the wrong name?.
Sometimes if you change your title after your website has already saved a cache of the Arkayne Widget, it can take time to update. After you create your desired title, allow a few hours for your website to reflect the changes. If it is not displaying properly after a few hours, feel free to email us at support@arkayne.com
How Arkayne Works
- What is the Arkayne Related Links Plugin?
- How do I use is the Arkayne Related Links Plugin?
Just sign up for an account on www.arkayne.com and download the plugin and follow the installation instructions. Once you've installed the plugin, you'll see related links to your content listed at the bottom of the post, just a few minutes after someone visits your page.
- What happens to my content?
Arkayne delivers links at the bottom of your posts to other posts of yours that are relevant, and then to other pages in the network as well. Links to your content appear elsewhere in the network. Those people, who are reading a post highly related to yours, are likely to come to your site and more likely to commit to the page, rather than bounce off it. This reduces your bounce rate and translates to more viewers.
- How can I make links appear faster?
Once the plugin is installed, the first time anyone views one of your pages, it will build links. This process currently takes several minutes when the server is running at low capacity but can take longer if the Arkayne server is at full capacity. We suggest that after you've written and published a post, you should visit the page itself in order to send a request to Arkayne to read the content of that page. In the time that links are being built the plugin will simply not display, additionally, it will not cause your page to slow down or keep it from loading.
- How does Arkayne protect my visitors' user experience?
Under normal conditions, the Arkayne plugin has no appreciable effect on page load times. In the event of a server update or outage, the plugin will gracefully disable itself and not appear on the page. For enterprise customers, we provide additional caching mechanisms that ensure the highest level of availability. For more information, place contact us.
- What happens if I change the content of a page?
Arkayne periodically re-scans the pages in its network. Eventually, the page will be re-linked to reflect the updated content.
- If Arkayne is free then how will it make money?
We currently limit our free plugin service to allow a maximum of 2000 pages total and up to 50 pages per month per account. If you have a larger site or blog and plan to exceed these usage limits contact us and we'll be happy to discuss the steps for setting up an enterprise account.
- Does Arkayne follow Google's link policy?
Yes, the official Google link policy applies only to paid links; Arkayne currently does not offer paid links. Check out Google's link policy for further information.

Displaying less than 5 "InnerLinks" a. Add more content to your site b. Add more content on to that article/post.
Displaying less than 5 "CrossLinks" a. Follow more profiles b. Add more content on to that article/post
