About Our Company & Culture | Arkayne

Arkayne was started in 2006 by developer Paul Kenjora as an easy way to link together his blog with his friends. Unsatisfied with all the "related post" plugins, Paul decided to let the technology focus on trying to ascertain the true meaning of what someone was writing by doing something no other technology does: look at every single word on the page. Arkayne was developed specifically for Django, a community in which Paul was highly active.

When friends saw the quality of the links that Arkayne was delivering, they clamored for the technology on their sites as well, and as the content management system (CMS) community flourished, the need for Arkayne to support multiple platforms flourished as well. By late 2008, almost 1000 new users a month were downloading Arkayne.

With the costs of processing power diminishing all the time, its now possible to process huge amounts of data for a relatively low cost. This allows Arkayne to look at millions of pages, with hundreds of words on each page, find relationships between those pages and build links in a very short period of time.

Arkayne's staff works out of Scottsdale, AZ with affiliates all over the US. Based in the agile work movement, Arkayne strives to recognize the changing needs of users and adjust rapidly to them. Highly connected and invested in online technologies and the social media movement, Arkayne employees are encouraged to work hard and play hard, balancing their lives with Arkayne's goals.
