I also have a job which involves being editor-in-chief of the Daily Dispatch in East London, South Africa, a newspaper with a proud 137 years of history. I also edit DispatchOnline, the paper’s website and which has won a number of awards over the last two years for innovative online reporting. I m passionate about investigtive reporting and have led Dispatch teams which have won a string of investigative journalism awards over the last couple of years. Recently our experiments in print/online investigative reporting projects have been acknowledged with several top gongs. My personal interests are data visualisation, geo-located information and crowdsourcing and how these technologies and techniques will impact on journalism and media more generally.
